BOULDER, Colo. - The University of Colorado men’s lacrosse team is excited to announce their 2014 schedule. Along with a difficult conference schedule, the Buffs will challenge themselves with one of the toughest out of conference schedules in the country. Colorado will play seven out of conference opponents who earned a bid to the MCLA National Championships in 2013.
Colorado's 2014 campaign begins with a scrimmage versus NCAA Division-II Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, Colo. The Buffs then start the regular season in Orange Country, Calif. for the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic from Feb. 21-23. In the first game, the Buffs take on perennial powerhouse Chapman University, followed by defending PCLL champion Boston College. CU then returns home for their home opener at newly renovated Kittredge Field. The Buffaloes will take on the University of Texas in a rematch of last year’s first round tournament game.
The Buffaloes then begin their Rocky Mountain Lacrosse Conference (RMLC) schedule, starting with on rival BYU. The Buffs continue their home stand with five straight out of conference opponents, including a 2013 MCLA National Championships rematch with Arizona State University. CU then travels back to California to battle Sonoma State and Stanford University in April. Finally, the Buffs return home to finish RMLC conference play, ending the regular season with the annual Rocky Mountain Showdown against in-state rival Colorado State.
The RMLC conference tournament is set to begin on May 2, 2014 in Grand Junction, Colo. The MCLA National Championships will begin on May 12, 2014 in Orange County, Calif.
